ANANTA Chongxiao — Lingyun City, Weilan Lake and the Second Map
What official ANANTA sources confirm about the second city: Chongxiao, Lingyun, Weilan Lake, city life, and what is still unannounced.
The short answer
The ANANTA story takes place in two cities. The official launch trailer puts it plainly: the story unfolds in 新启 and 重霄的凌云 — Nova City and Chongxiao’s Lingyun City.
The Japanese version writes them as 新啓 and 重霄・凌雲.
Chongxiao is the second city, revealed at gamescom 2026. The team building the game says it is the bigger of the two.

Where the two cities come from
Nova City is the map players could try at Tokyo Game Show 2025. It is still one of the two settings.
Chongxiao first appeared in the gamescom 2026 trailer. In a Famitsu interview, the development team said the gamescom demo was not the big-city block from the year before, but a small village on the edge of a city.
That interview goes further: the newly revealed city is the protagonist’s home town. So Chongxiao is not just a second backdrop.
Lingyun, Weilan Lake and the real-world city
In a TechRadar interview, the producer explained that Lingyun is an area being built inside Chongxiao. The inspiration is Shanghai and Hangzhou, where the team lives and works.
That interview adds two more details. Chongxiao is arranged around Weilan Lake, modelled on West Lake in Hangzhou. And Chongxiao leans toward advanced technology, richer cultural content and large tourist attractions, while Nova City is the louder, more entertainment-driven one.
City life, as the interviews describe it
- Take a boat out on Weilan Lake. The producer singled this out as something only Chongxiao has.
- Shop, eat out, catch a live show, dance at night — and bring a favourite character along.
- Pick the life you want. The Famitsu interview gives two examples: a truck driver who delivers more cargo and slowly builds a name, and an officer who chases criminals. Characters have their own jobs.
- Build an audience. In a GameSpark interview, the marketing lead said missions and good deeds in the city bring in followers, and more influence opens up new places and new companions.
What is not announced yet
- No coordinates, no order in which areas open, and no district-by-district list.
- No official area figure. “Bigger than Nova City” is a comparison, not a measurement.
- The official site lists Weilan Lake, Mingpu District, Downtown, Longqi Village and Veluxity Zone together, but does not say which city each one belongs to.
- Nothing yet says which areas will be playable on January 15, 2027, or how much of Chongxiao ships at launch.
